Why Yale? As a parent, one of the things that most attracted me to Yale was getting to know other parents in the program who felt supported in prioritizing family without having to compromise their education. Everyone I have met, coordinators, co-residents and leadership, has welcomed me and my family with genuine joy and support. Professionally, I knew that Yale was a fit for me, because of its efforts to promote diversity by supporting the diverse populations that already exist within the institution and the local community. As an immigrant from Latin America, it is important not only that I serve patients with whom I can identify, but that I learn from leaders in health equity, so that I build the skills necessary to serve any population I may come across in my future career as a physician advocate. This is what I've found at Yale, and even after many grueling hours of work, I could not be happier with my choice to be here!

How do you stay busy outside the hospital? My family and I really enjoy riding the beautiful bike path through Yale, eating out, and going to the beach in the summer!
