Why Yale? The people at Yale were the major selling point for me—not just fellow residents, but the attendings and support staff too! The residents always go out of their way to help each other and have truly become my second family. The attendings are brilliant yet still incredibly approachable and are always there to help you accomplish all of your goals. I came into residency wanting to go into neonatology and was really impressed by the patient/family centered model of care that we offer to all of our NICU families in our impressive facilities. I also appreciated the size of both the program and of New Haven in general—not too small that you get bored, but not too big that you feel overwhelmed or get lost. Lastly, I have family and friends in both Boston and NY so the location is quite convenient and has allowed for me to make very frequent visits to keep me sane during residency!
