Why Yale? I could tell that this is a place where learning is a high priority - learning medicine, learning how to integrate evidence based medicine into patient centered care, learning how to gain deeper understanding of the local/global/political/personal contexts that bring patients to our care. All of this was very readily discussed throughout my interview and second look days, and they continue to be very present themes now that I’m here! I also quickly realized how well the residents (and faculty) get along in and out of the hospital! There's really a priority on finding joy both at and outside of work. My quality of life is great (even as an intern!!), because I enjoy the people I get to spend time with every day and I'm encouraged to do the things that make me happy outside of work!
Favorite Apizza: I still have a few to try but Pepe's clam pizza is my favorite so far!
How do you stay busy outside the hospital? Going for walks to explore New Haven; hiking; trying out new restaurants, bars, and breweries; hunting for my favorite local bakery (attempting to try them all!); baking/cooking; taking yoga classes (there have been a couple of in person options!); taking care of my plant babies
