Why Yale? My interviewers - Andie Asnes (she is incredible (!) and really showed an investment in my professional growth as well as in me as a person both during and after my interview), Adam Berkwitt (our truly awesome APD who I laughed with for my entire interview), and Rachel Osborn (the most genuine, transparent, intelligent, and thoughtful PD I met on the interview trail); the culture - Yale was the only place where residents shared an embarrassing moment with applicants as they introduced themselves, but also clearly took patient care very seriously and loved learning/practicing medicine; the advocacy opportunities - Paw Prints, Flourishing Families, refugee clinic, the medical legal partnership, the work in the greater New Haven community; the residents' schedule itself (and how much it supported resident well-being); the resident education model (and emphasis on the growth mindset)
Favorite Apizza: Olives and Oil, Elm City Social's rooftop tiki bar, Pokemoto for takeout, BAR for their mashed potato bacon pizza.
How do you stay busy outside the hospital? Soccer, softball (go Immunizers!), hiking, running in East Rock, spin, sleeping (!!), tending to my plants, dancing, bopping around downtown New Haven with my co-residents, listening to/watching stand-up comedy, visiting family and friends in NY + Boston
